      Benjamin Lopez est un guitariste de Jazz originaire de Paris. En tant que leader de son propre groupe ou comme sideman, il se produit régulièrement dans les clubs de la capitale tels que le Sunset/Sunside, le Duc des Lombards ou encore le Baiser Salé.Après avoir obtenu son DEM Jazz à l’Edim sous l’enseignement de Romain Pilon, David Prez, Laurent Coq ou encore Eric Schultz, Benjamin est parti un an à New york pour étudier à la prestigieuse New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, grâce à l’obtention d’une bourse de mérite. Il a ainsi appris de quelques uns de ces héros comme les guitaristes Mike Moreno, Peter Bernstein, Andrew Renfroe, Steve Cardenas ou encore le saxophoniste Dayna Stephens.

Benjamin s’est notamment fait remarquer à la Smietana Guitar Competition présidée par le guitariste Peter Bernstein et a été séléctionné parmi des centaines de guitaristes internationaux pour participer aux Semi Finales à Cracovie en Pologne.A son retour à Paris, Benjamin a collaboré et s’est produit avec beaucoup de musiciens de la scène jazz parisienne comme Ricardo Izquierdo, Robin Nicaise, David Prez, Jozef Dumoulin, Ariel Tessier, Stéphane Adsuar Yoni Zelnik, Viktor Nyberg, Florent Nisse, Damien Varaillon..

Il a également eu l’opportunité de partir en tournée au Mexique avec le saxophoniste Charley Rose et le chanteur/conteur Diego Gonzalez dans le cadre du projet musical autour d’auteurs latino-americains (Alejo Carpentier, Julio Cortazar) Viaje en la Semilla.Avec Charley, Benjamin a formé son premier groupe avec Gabriel Midon à la contrebasse, Ariel Tessier à la batterie et le sorcier du piano Jozef Dumoulin.

Benjamin est aujourd’hui soutenu par le 389 la boutique, association culturelle qui a pour vocation de promouvoir ses artistes au travers d’évènements culturels.

Benjamin Lopez is a Jazz guitarist from Paris. As the leader of his own group or as a sideman, he regularly performs in the capital's clubs such as Sunset/Sunside, Duc des Lombards and Baiser Salé.
After obtaining his DEM Jazz at Edim under the teaching of Romain Pilon, David Prez, Laurent Coq and Eric Schultz, Benjamin went to New York for a year to study at the prestigious New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music, thanks to a merit scholarship. He learned from some of his heroes like guitarists Mike Moreno, Peter Bernstein, Andrew Renfroe, Steve Cardenas and saxophonist Dayna Stephens.


Benjamin stood out in particular at the Smietana Guitar Competition chaired by guitarist Peter Bernstein and was selected among hundreds of international guitarists to participate in the Semi Finals in Krakow, Poland.
Upon his return to Paris, Benjamin collaborated and performed with many musicians from the Parisian jazz scene such as Ricardo Izquierdo, Robin Nicaise, David Prez, Jozef Dumoulin, Ariel Tessier, Stéphane Adsuar Yoni Zelnik, Viktor Nyberg, Florent Nisse, Damien Varaillon,..


He also had the opportunity to tour Mexico with saxophonist Charley Rose and singer/storyteller Diego Gonzalez as part of the musical project around Latin American authors (Alejo Carpentier, Julio Cortazar) Viaje en la Semilla.
With Charley, Benjamin formed his first group with Gabriel Midon on double bass, Ariel Tessier on drums and piano wizard Jozef Dumoulin.


Benjamin is today supported by 389 la boutique, a cultural association which aims to promote its artists through cultural events.
